Why Finland?

At the 2000 United Nations Millennium Conference, all donors and aid- recipient  governments agreed to tailor their Future development policies and expenditure priorities to meet a set of development targets, called Millennium Development Goals ( MDGS), provide political and practical direction to international development institutions , government and citizens in their collective effort to eradicate poverty.
Finland has ,as part of EU committed to allocate 0.7% of its GNI to development cooperation and  to  ensure that 0.2% of it’s GNI is allocated  to least developed countries.

…. INTRODUCING…

The complexities involved in accessing these funds for development of Africa ( Nigeria) and Third Sector Organization in Nigeria will be examined and find a solution by partnering with Anambra State Association/Foundation, as an umbrella for collaboration and partnership is accessing funds for development, transparency and accountability.

Role of Finnish NGOs … “Thousands of Finnish people and NGOs”- (PG 11 Finland’s Development Cooperation Booklet,) have engaged in development cooperation, but NGOS from Nigeria has not been actively involved in engaging with Finnish Development Cooperation, in  contributing and carrying out these development, which will be more beneficial to the rural poor, if these NGOS are actively involved. The Finland roundtable conference will offer an invaluable opportunity for the Nigeria  NGOS conferees (of both groups and individuals) to observe and interact with Finnish NGOs, faith based organizations and Finnish Individuals that had been engaging in development cooperation.
